Old lanterns, jugs, and bales of hay make great decorations. You can also use kerosene lamps and washtubs as accents. Line the area with western saloon scene setters. Get your camera ready!
A game of horseshoes next to a roaring bonfire is a great activity for socializing. Sing-along western songs can liven up the bunch, and karaoke takes cowboy tunes to a new dimension. Games to play can include competions in roping, or using a lasso to catch an object. A cowboy boot pinata is an easy to prepare crowd pleaser. For the more creative crowd, gather refrigerator boxes and creative the most unique mine shafts or saloons. Guest can also "pan for gold" in a sandbox or pool. Simply use a gold spray paint on small gravel or rocks to create a gold nugget look.

Rootin' tootin' country music can be played in the background for some square or line dancing.
